Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning plays a very important role in hospital due to its exposure to large amount of illness causing microbes, dust, Volatile Components and variable temperature and humidity requirements. So, the HVAC system in hospitals must be designed to remove these components along with providing thermal comforts to its occupants. The different rooms in a hospital, subjective to their application (ICU, ICCU, ITU, Infected Isolated Room, Different types of OTs (As per surgical application, etc.), have different HVAC design to maintain suitable condition to examine the patient as well as provide thermal comforts to the doctors.
The contaminated air supply in room by the HVAC System or generation of different types of moulds, dust, VoC, virus, bacteria etc. can often lead to Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs). This infection spreads among the indoor patients, outdoor patients, doctors, nurses, staffs deteriorating their health conditions and aggravating any existing infections. Apart from this, it is important to maintain conditions in room based on the application being performed (Room Dry Bulb Temperature, Wet Bulb Temperature, RH%, Humidity Ratio – grs/lb, Room Static Pressure, room’s air velocity, Type of Ventilation system, air stratification level, ΔP between the designed room and outside, ACH as per design), the clothing (Clo to incorporate in the design) and the metabolic activity involved. For e.g., In an operation theatre the clothing of the doctors must be seriously considered while designing its HVAC system, to maintain temperature and humidity conditions of the room comfortable for the doctor.
We provide suitable and economically feasible HVAC Design solutions for various rooms in hospitals like OTs (General Surgery, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Joint Replacement, Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery etc.), Cath Labs, MRI Room, Defected Isolated Room, ICUs, ICCU etc., as per ASHRAE 170.20 guidelines. During the design process our team keeps in mind the comfort of both the patient as well as the doctor. We also incorporate UVGI Technology in AHU design to make bacteria and virus inactive.
A cleanroom is a room where the concentration of airborne particles is controlled. It has a defined environmental control of particulate and microbial and are constructed and maintained to minimize the introduction and retention of the contaminants. In Pharmaceutical Industry all the products are highly hygroscopic in nature the environmental conditions play a very important role in the quality of the products manufactured. Different countries have different rules and regulations that the manufacturers, processors and packagers of the drugs have to take to ensure that their products are safe, pure and effective. The HVAC system for pharmaceutical cleanroom must maintain an indoor environment quality and embraces number of issues like selection of building materials, products and personnel, determination of parameters like temperature, humidity (low grs/lb.), suitable moisture flow (lb/min), pressure, filtration, air flow parameters and classification of cleanroom.
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems plays a very important role in the pharma industry by providing a clean and aseptic environment with controlled relative humidity. The HVAC design for pharmaceutical design follows the ISO 5 to ISO 8 guidelines which is equivalent to class 100 to class 100000 of FED STD where ISO 5 is the cleanest. The airborne particles are usually filtered by using High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance (HEPA) filters. The ventilated areas must be maintained at a positive pressure with respect to the surroundings so that the air flow is always from the cleaner room to the surrounding space. So, the HVAC System must provide more air into the room to maintain a higher pressure. The HVAC system plays an important role in maintaining the humidity & temperature of the room by cooling air to the dew point temperature or by using desiccant technology in AHUs.
We provide suitable design solutions for the pharmaceutical cleanrooms considering various design parameters based on the application and clean room standards as per the expert advice of our technical consultant.
Pharmaceutical, semiconductor, food processing industries require specific and continuously maintained environmental conditions for their manufacturing process. It mainly involves the control of the moisture content in the air by controlling the humidity. At regions of high moisture, the pharma companies face a challenge of bringing down the RH level to the required condition as well as maintain suitable pressure in the room. Therefore, designing an AHU and its coil is a challenge in such cases. In such as case, additional dehumidification can be provided by incorporating the desiccant technology in the design of AHU.
Nowadays there is an increased demand for Air handling Units (AHUs) with integrated desiccant dehumidifier technology in various industries to maintain a low temperature, low humidity – low grs/lb. condition. We design AHU, by incorporating desiccant technology to meet the design requirement (grs/lb), as per the application based on the customer requirement. We offer AHUs in the size of 100CMH to 50000CMH that is designed for industrial process for low dew point applications. The desiccant rotor technology is used that is used to remove the water directly from the air. We also provide the validation and documentation works and maintenance of the dehumidifiers.
